What if the provider I'm working with does not feel like a good fit?
We understand that the success of treatment depends on the relationship between the patient and the therapist. You can change to another one of our providers without consequences, or if you prefer, request referrals to a provider in the community. We do encourage you to have an open conversation with your provider first if you feel that they are not meeting your needs. At times, some simple feedback is enough to pivot and improve the process. Or you may receive some clarification on why a specific approach has been employed.
We understand that giving feedback is uncomfortable, especially if you dislike confrontations or are adverse to causing upset. Rest assured that all of our providers are self-confident enough to know that someone needing a different approach does not mean we are bad at our jobs!
