APWI maintains patient medical records in accordance with applicable law. We use a closed, fully independent electronic documentation platform (TherapyNotes). This platform is fully HIPPA compliant and HITRUST certified. All data is encrypted and protected by several powerful firewalls. We do not document in a shared electronic health record such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks. We do not participate in electronic health information exchanges. Your treatment information will not be available to your insurance company or any other non-APWI healthcare entities. If you prefer, alternatively, your treatment information can be stored in a private, locked, paper file.

We will never disclose any information related to your care without your expressed written and signed authorization, except in a threat of harm to yourself or others. All patient-physician privilege laws apply to your care at APWI.
